Tutorials

Learn CueDirector by building a real show.

Every install comes with a hands-on, built-in tutorial — no separate download, no hunting for guides. Open CueDirector and you're already learning.

Built-In Tutorial

"The Last Toast" walks you through the whole app.

The Last Toast

A real script. A real show. Zero risk.

CueDirector's Demo Mode automatically loads a bundled tutorial show called "The Last Toast" — a real fictional script with real cues, so you're learning by actually building a show instead of clicking through an empty screen. Its fixture, lighting, and plot data is completely isolated from your own shows, so there's nothing to accidentally overwrite while you practice.

It's the fastest way to get comfortable with CueDirector before your first real rehearsal — and since it's built right into every install, you're never more than a few clicks away from it.

What You'll Learn
  • Loading a script and placing your first cue
  • Building a Cue List that renumbers itself automatically
  • Adding audio and video to a cue — with Loop, Overlay, and volume control
  • Building lighting looks and saving them as presets
  • Jumping anywhere in the show with Instant Preview
  • Stacking lights, audio, video, and camera moves into one cue
Where to Find It

Already on your computer.

Every install places "The Last Toast" tutorial guide, plus the full CueDirector User Manual, in your Documents > CueDirector > Documents folder, with Start Menu shortcuts to open them directly.

We strongly recommend printing the tutorial and working through it front to back before your first rehearsal. Every sound and video asset it uses is already included, so you're never hunting for a missing file.

In Production

More ways to learn are on the way.

The built-in tutorial gets you comfortable with the core of CueDirector fast, but some setups deserve a closer look. We're actively producing video tutorials covering the more advanced side of the app — DMX and Art-Net/sACN patching, connecting a Behringer or Midas X32/M32 mixer, setting up NDI cameras and PTZ control, and more.
